PTA Event Guidelines

PTA Event Participants:

Lester PTA is fortunate to use District 58 building spaces for PTA-sponsored events and activities throughout the year. Many of those events would not happen without this privilege.

 

At all PTA events - regardless of location - participants are expected to follow the same Behavior Expectations that apply during the school day: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe. We understand that it is exciting for our students to be in the building after hours, but we need to work together to ensure we may continue to use these spaces.

Please discuss with your student(s) that Lester PTA events are volunteer-led. All event participants should be respectful to the volunteers and other participants. Disruptive behavior impedes everyone’s ability to fully participate in PTA activities and will not be tolerated. Parents will be contacted to pick up any disruptive participants. The Lester Behavior Expectations for participants at PTA-sponsored activities mirror the Lester School Behavior Expectations.

PTA Event Parent Volunteers / Chaperones:

 

When signing up to volunteer at a PTA-sponsored event or activity, please follow these guidelines:

• When you commit to a volunteer role, PTA and Lester students are counting on you. Please make every effort to find a replacement if extraordinary circumstances prevent you from fulfilling your commitment

• Be respectful of the spaces we are using. Students should remain in the assigned areas and refrain from using classroom or building materials that are not a part of the event. 

• Event chaperones need to be fully engaged with the students and provide adult supervision throughout the event. As a PTA volunteer/chaperone, you are responsible for monitoring the conduct of the participants at all times during the PTA event. All event participants should be respectful to the volunteers and other participants. 

• Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Contact the event chairperson or Lester staff person if an issue needs to be addressed. Parents will be contacted to pick up any disruptive participants. 

• If you are volunteering at the end of the activity/ event, please help throw away any trash and clean up the space. 

• HAVE FUN! Engage with student participants and serve as a role model for them.
